Modern Niagra
The collaboration enhances and integrates Nexii’s innovative commercial buildings
with Modern Niagara’s high-performance building and energy-saving solution services

April 27, 2022 (Vancouver/ Unceded Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations)  Nexii Building Solutions Inc.(Nexii), a green technology company, and Modern Niagara, a leading integrated building technology and services supplier, announce a collaboration that will result in reduced carbon footprints for their combined commercial retail unit (CRU) clients.

Buildings and construction account for 39% of global climate pollution[1] making the industry the number one driver of the climate crisis[2]. The Nexii-Modern Niagara partnership directly supports the two companies in their missions to provide excellence in building solutions and reduce buildings’ climate impacts.

Modern Niagara is Canada’s largest mechanical contractors and building solutions company, that also manufactures commercial racking, heating and air conditioning systems. Recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies[3], Modern Niagara designs and implements building systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC) that focus on greater sustainability and comfort.

Nexii is an award-winning innovator in high-performance green building products, designing and manufacturing sustainable, disaster resilient buildings. Nexii buildings are made using a breakthrough, sustainable building material, Nexiite, that has comparable properties to concrete but contains no Portland cement or lime. Nexiite is used to develop airtight Nexii buildings with a lower carbon footprint of 20-33% less embodied carbon[4] and significantly reduced building energy use (33% less energy overall and 55% less heating energy[5]).

Modern Niagara will layer its high efficiency racking products and design solutions on top of Nexii product offerings. Combining Nexii’s high-performance green building products with Modern Niagara’s systems and design services further reduce the carbon emissions and energy (electrical and gas) use of clients, resulting in greater operational and cost efficiencies.

“The need for sustainable building solutions that reduce carbon, energy, and costs has never been so urgent,” Brad McAninch, Modern Niagara CEO states. “The opportunity to bring together our systems and design services with Nexii’s green building products results in immediate and long-term benefits for both our clients and the planet.”

“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Modern Niagara,” Stephen Sidwell, co-founder and CEO of Nexii adds. “This is another proactive collaboration with an industry leader that allows Nexii to further our ability to support clients reaching their net zero goals and fulfill our vision to build a vibrant future for people and planet.”
