Chief executive officer
Stephen is a serial entrepreneur who has founded companies in various industries—including in manufacturing, retail, real estate, investment banking, healthy restaurants (LYFE Kitchen) and CPG food brands (Luvo)—raising over a billion dollars in the process. He has been featured in business publications as an industry disrupter by Bloomberg, Fast Company, Fortune, NY Times, CNBC, and Huffington Post among others.
Stephen is committed to creating a greener, healthier planet for future generations. His current mission is to revolutionize the global construction industry, using Nexii’s building technology to create a brighter future for people and the planet.
Executive Vice President of Strategy and Partnerships
After leading the city of Vancouver as its longest serving Mayor, Gregor now focuses his work on positive solutions to the climate crisis, both with the Nexii leadership team and as Global Ambassador for the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy. His vision for a greener, more inclusive Vancouver has led to record-setting years for new housing, job growth and the lowest carbon emissions per person for any major city in North America. The city now consistently ranks among the top five green and livable cities in the world.
Before serving as mayor, Gregor served in the BC Parliament, he co-founded and led Happy Planet Foods, and was an organic farmer.
Co-founder, co-inventor & senior vice president of product development
Ben has been a creative problem solver, innovator and inventor his whole life, with experience founding several ventures and bringing multiple products to market. He is the co-founder of Energy Sustainable Structures Inc., a building research and development company based in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, which formed the basis and inspiration for the Nexii assembly system and Nexiite material.
As the vice president of business development, he helped lead the company in developing numerous products and processes in the area of materials sciences and manufacturing that are revolutionizing the way buildings are constructed.
Co-founder, co-inventor & senior vice president of building technology
Michael is a prolific inventor and developer of building products and systems with a passion for sustainable structures and sustainable living. Most notably, Michael is the inventor behind the Nexii whole building solution. For over 40 years, he has designed and built projects from custom residential to multi-family, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. During that time, he also manufactured the structural steel and precast concrete for this wide range of buildings.
In addition to his numerous inventions, Michael’s creativity flourished with the notable accomplishment of the design and construction of Tunnels of Moose Jaw — a national award-winning tourist attraction that has boasted over 2 million tourists from around the world over the last 20 years.
Executive Vice President of Operations, A&E and Assembly
Prior to joining Nexii, Bill spent two decades leading one of the largest integrated development services, design, and construction firms in Western Canada. In 2019, Bill recognized the power of Nexiite to disrupt the construction industry and change how the world builds. He invested in Nexii as part of Omicron’s long-term strategic business plans, then engaged as a partner, collaborating on several projects. In the summer of 2021, Omicron was acquired by Nexii and today Bill maintains his role of chief executive officer at Omicron, while also leading the Operations, A&E and Assembly for Nexii.
Executive Vice President of Investor Relations
Todd has 25 years experience working with a range of Fortune 500, public and private companies on the creation and implementation of business management processes and technology. Most recently, he has focused on assisting founders and families with start-ups through proof of concept and hyper growth in consumer products and technology sectors. Todd is a Managing Director of Equifaira and he currently serves on the boards of directors, and in various advisory capacities, with a number of companies and a non-profit organization.
Executive Vice President of Manufacturing
Brian is a senior executive with more than 25 years of industrial leadership experience. Prior to joining Nexii, Brian served as the President and CEO of Seaspan Shipyards, where he transformed the group of three shipyards into an industry leader and partner for Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy. Under Brian’s leadership, Seaspan Shipyards secured one of the largest public investments in construction of world-class vessels, creating thousands of jobs and over $500 million in annual shipbuilding and repair work.
Brian is committed to building a sustainable manufacturing system across Nexii, disrupting traditional industry methods and establishing the next generation of construction. Brian’s strategic approach, rooted in mentorship, collaboration, and employee growth will support Nexii in meeting its long-term vision of manufacturing and constructing high‑quality buildings.
Senior Executive Advisor
David Bryant joins the Nexii team as Senior Executive Advisor collaborating with the executive team and board of directors in determining, prioritizing, and implementing critical business strategies. David is a licensed attorney, with over twenty-five years of experience providing counsel and support to businesses, industry associations (insurance, medical, conservation), and personal clients, including extensive history as an advisor and board member to CEO Stephen Sidwell’s previous business ventures.
PHD, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP - Vice President, Sustainability
Zosia’s passion for shaping a future in which both people and natural systems thrive drives her position as Vice President of Sustainability with Nexii. Her notable past roles include Head of Sustainability at Woodland Park Zoo, WA, and Associate with Buro Happold.
Zosia’s PhD in Resource Management Environmental Studies focused on green building performance and post-occupancy evaluation. She brings over 15 years’ experience in driving sustainable change and environmental policy in organizations across North America and Europe to Nexii. Zosia’s deep and consistent focus on product performance, carbon impact of operations, zero waste and climate resilience are at the heart of Nexii’s operations. Together with teams from across the company, Zosia leads Nexii’s environment, social and governance (ESG) strategy underpinning our mission to build a vibrant future for people and planet.
Vice President of Market Development
As a global business development expert, Morgan prides himself on his commitment to ethical and transparent business practices. Whether he’s negotiating contracts with multinationals or leading a project in one continent or another (the Americas or Africa), he is dedicated to thoughtful and proactive market development, innovative growth strategies, and integrating customer/partner needs.
Morgan brings years of experience in pre-fabricated construction and portable shelters for humanitarian/emergency and trade use in locations as diverse as the Canadian Arctic, Peru, Brazil, and West Africa to his role. His impressive communication skills and culturally-aware problem solving abilities make him a visionary leader at Nexii where he leads the charge in national and international relationships.
VP Finance
Bonnie is a strategic financial leader with 20+ years of experience leading rapidly growing businesses through the transformation of people, processes, and technology. Prior to joining Nexii, Bonnie held positions such as the Senior Director of Finance at Hootsuite, Director of Treasury & Tax at Western Forest Products, and Director of Financial Planning and Reporting at Finning (Canada). She is a trusted business partner with experience in both IFRS and US GAAP reporting environments in private and public companies. Her focus is on leading high-growth entrepreneurial organizations to scale efficiently, effectively, and internationally.
Bonnie has a Business degree from Simon Fraser University and is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Professional Accountant. In her spare time, she volunteers within her community.
Vice President, People, Culture, & Community
Lauren partners with leaders to drive high-performance culture by building strengths-based and values-aligned people strategies. Throughout her career, she has worked with start-ups and multi-national organizations in the US and Canada to build and develop teams while creating, launching, and sustaining HR functions such as business partnering, compensation, benefits, recruitment, and people information systems. Notably, Lauren led the people operations efforts in the successful spin-off of LAIKA/house – the commercial division of major motion picture company, LAIKA Studios – into a stand-alone, legacy start-up. She also worked with multi-billion-dollar global brand, lululemon, as a trusted advisor to their people managers for career development, succession planning, compensation, and performance management.
Lauren holds a post graduate certificate in Industrial Organizational Psychology and is currently pursuing her MSc, Leadership focusing on Organizational Behaviour and Development.
Vice President, Commercial Retail Business Development
With over 30 years of experience in commercial retail, Darren’s extensive background includes development management roles at Starbucks, New York Fries, Pizza Pizza Ltd., and Second Cup. At Nexii, Darren is the go-to for commercial retail development, bringing his experience and knowledge to expand Nexii’s market in this sector. His drive and practical leadership is paired with genuine pleasure in creating and nurturing success in others. Nexii is proud to have Darren lead our Commercial Retail Unit projects after seeing firsthand the transformative power of our product in a commercial pilot project.
Vice President of Architecture
Laurenz brings 30 years’ experience working as an architect, and was a Principal at Stantec Architecture Ltd where he practiced for over two decades. Notably, he was the Architect of Record for the Whistler Sliding Centre for the 2010 Olympics, lead architect for the complete refurbishment of BC Place Stadium, and from 2013 to 2017 was the Architect of Record for The Amazing Brentwood. Laurenz currently advises Shape Properties’ Development Team, and is Vice President of Architecture at Nexii. His goal is to assist in the development and evolution of Nexii’s innovative product, helping to bring the Nexii solution to market.
Vice President of Marketing and Communications
Nancy has developed and implemented strategic marketing and communications campaigns for green firms for over 15 years. Nancy excels at creating strategies for construction and engineering consultancies, and previously worked as the Marketing and Communications Director for Integral Group, a Vancouver-based green engineering firm. Nancy currently volunteers her time as the Director of Communications for the Living Future Vancouver Collaborative and joined the Communications Committee for Canadian Construction Women (CCW) in February 2020. Nancy also served as the 2019 CCW’s Director of Communications.
Vice President, Production
Naomi brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in operational excellence with a focus on manufacturing continuous improvement. Having worked in both the manufacturing and construction industries, she has a unique understanding of how to deliver a high-quality product in the most efficient way on a large scale.
Naomi has previously led innovation, project management, engineering and design organizations using her background in chemical engineering, lean manufacturing, lean construction and six sigma. She is passionate about bringing out the best in our processes and people to create value for the organization and our customers.
Vice President of Investor Relations
Justin joins Nexii as an award-winning industry entrepreneur and business executive. Prior to joining the team, Justin founded Marine Tree Inc., and served as the CEO of WinWin Academy. Notably, while serving as the founder and EVP of Blue Planet Water Solutions, Justin co-authored a policy paper on oil spill response for the White House, and developed oil spill management technology solutions for the U.S. Coast Guard and the Environmental Protection Agency.
Justin’s passion and advocacy for environmental stewardship and sustainability inspired him to join the Nexii team. He is a core driver of the investor relations team and continues to inspire clients with the Nexii vision and the company’s commitment to create sustainable, disaster-resilient, durable, and cost-efficient buildings.
Vice President of Engineering
Mark typifies Nexii’s commitment to building a vibrant future for people and the planet. His work around sustainability and climate change is recognized by the award of Fellowship in the Institution of Structural Engineers and Engineers Canada. A champion of sustainability since the early days of his career, he has led and been part of cross-disciplinary structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams on award-winning and boundary-breaking projects. These include the Wood Innovation Centre in Prince George, the Cedar Valley Lodge accommodation village in Kitimat, and Heron Hall, a living building home on Bainbridge Island.
Mark brings a deep recognition of the essential value of prioritizing people in design and in leadership to his role of VP of Engineering at Nexii, finding great motivation in investing in leadership development, mentorship, and serving with committees and code-development projects to advance sustainability in the built environment. He was the founding Chair of the Climate Change Advisory Group to Engineers Geoscientists BC, and also serves on Wood First Advisory Committee for the Forestry Innovation Investment Group as well as CSA Code Development Committees.
Vice President, Business Optimization
Chad’s proven track record of entrepreneurial and “intrapreneurial” success in forward-thinking sustainable solutions is backed by thorough proficiency in finance, leadership, strategy, and innovation. In addition to decades of experience at one of the largest accounting firms, he cofounded a successful biomass start-up and transitioned Ledcor into having one of the largest LNG/CNG fleets in Canada.
Chad brings world-class knowledge and experience in sustainable growth, efficiency, responsible leadership, and next-generation innovation to the Nexii finance team.
Vice President of Growth & Innovation
John describes himself as an Idea Farmer, planting ideas for new ways of thinking and adding intelligent ingredients to foster growth. With over 25 years of leadership experience in marketplace automation and process efficiency design at Hubbell Inc., John brings a uniquely organic approach of innovation and growth to Nexii. His Master’s degree in technology management lends to his understanding of innovations, processes, and technologies and leverages this knowledge to positively impact growth, while helping the planet.
John’s mantra, Where Technology Connects People, underpins his essential role at Nexii, inventing better ways of working toward our mission while cultivating healthy, people-first growth.
Director of Growth & Innovation
John finds satisfaction in bridging the needs and languages of business and technology, specializing in relationship building and innovation in transformative re-envisioning of processes and systems. He has succeeded in pushing the boundaries of what is possible to translate ideas into reality while giving leadership in the electrical and building hardware industries at top global companies.
John’s mission at Nexii is to cultivate innovation and growth by creating partnerships with Integrated Service Providers (ISPs) to align strategic goals, identify synergies, ensure smooth project execution, and create lasting relationships through honesty, positivity, and open communication.
Director of Client Experience
Olivia brings deep experience in relationship development and sustainability leadership across the public and private sectors to the Nexii Client Experience team.
She has developed strategic partnerships with various Fortune Global 500 corporations in North America, Europe, and Asia including General Electric, Lockheed Martin, and Mitsui. While working for the Province of British Columbia, Olivia led the development and launch of several sustainable strategies including the BC Energy Plan and Clean Energy Act. Her championing of corporate and social enterprises with a focus on human health and well-being illustrates her passion for people-focused collaboration, strategic innovation, and sustainable growth.
Director of Supply Chain Management
Natalia is a Diplomat Engineer and Lean Six Sigma professional with over 25 years’ experience in all aspects of supply chain management. A passionate expert with broad experience in various industries, Natalia has held multiple positions with private and public organizations, in both Europe and North America. In her last role where she led both procurement and privacy for a government crown agency, Natalia established and set trends for innovative procurement practices, including processes to benefit Indigenous businesses across Canada for years to come. With a passion for social responsibility and love for challenging work, Natalia joined Nexii to set up and lead its growing sustainable supply chain.
Director of Business Development
As a Director of Business Development, Oscar leads initiatives and projects to accelerate growth and brand awareness. He is an established leader with over 20 years of experience expanding business in North and South America.
Oscar has been a trusted advisor to the design and construction community providing total systems solutions for projects in the data center, healthcare, mining, energy and manufacturing industries.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Oscar’s mission at Nexii is to support clients achieve their long-term sustainability goals through technology and revolutionary, more sustainable building methods.
Director of Product Management
Christina has over a decade of experience as a project manager and team leader for high-rise development, institutional, and adaptive reuse projects. She has helped her client’s navigate complex approval and construction processes enabling successful execution. Christina focuses on driving process and quality improvements to achieve consistency and efficiency. Her passion in translating the technical concepts to a wider audience enables her to foster collaboration on interdisciplinary teams and empower her clients to make thoughtful and data driven decisions. She is currently serving as a Council Member with the Ontario Association of Architects and as VP of Strategic supporting ongoing engagement on governance issues including building greater Climate Resiliency and addressing issues of Housing Affordability. Her past roles include Sr. Associate at mcCallumSather, Chair of the Hamilton Burlington Society of Architects and board Member for Cobalt Connects. She obtained her MArch at the University of Waterloo, is a licensed Architect in Ontario, and has international experience in England, France, and Italy.
Director, Financial Planning and Analysis
Stephen has over 10+ years of experience in finance and operations driving business strategy development, financial planning & analysis and implementing system process improvements. Most recently, he was Head of Finance for Vistara Growth, a technology-focused investment firm, overseeing financial operations and reporting of its funds. Prior to that, Stephen worked for Grant Thornton LLP leading the financial budgeting/forecasting process and strategic planning for offices across the Western Canada region. He was also part of the investment team at UBC IMANT, which is responsible for managing the investment pool for the University of British Columbia, including a multi-billion-dollar Endowment and Pension fund. Stephen graduated from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant.

Lannie’s expertise in mission-driven planning and operational excellence is backed by considerable experience in Fortune 500, public, and private companies. With his ability to collaborate with teams and leaders from the CEO to the front line, Lannie excels at providing clarity on business objectives to ensure information and projects are delivered on-time, accurately, and completely.
As Director of Corporate Planning at Nexii, Lannie ensures the team is well-equipped to develop tools and processes to drive transparency into topline revenue, and bottom-line profit across the organization. Lannie brings leadership in operations, systems and strategic change to the Nexii planning team, ensuring clarity, quality, and continuous improvement of our operations while continuing to prioritize the well-being of people and our planet.
